Salerni, professor of performing arts, will direct George Bernard

airplane carrying a mysterious passenger suddenly crashes through
the roof.

DETAILS:
The setting
for Shaw's "Misalliance" is the greenhouse of a self-made millionaire,
as his family plays host to their future in-laws. Marital arrangements
are hilariously disrupted as tables turn and turn again in this
delightful comedy laden with social and romantic insights.
When adventure
drops from the sky, the characters are forced to look at their prejudices
and limited horizons, and create new intellectual categories where
they can understand what they each desire and how they can relate
to one another
. "'Misalliance'
is a boisterous feminist take on human independence and daring,"
said Salerni. "The year 2000 is the 50th anniversary of Shaw's death
and our production of 'Misalliance' is a fitting tribute to the
man who, even in the latter part of the 19th century and beginning
of the 20th century, was an active proponent of feminist issues."
