ENSO QUARTET TO PERFORM AT UIC

As part of the regular "Tuesdays at One" series, Theodore Edel, pianist/artist in residence in UIC's department of performing arts, along with the Enso Quartet, will perform Schumann's "Piano Quintet" and other selected pieces.

DETAILS:

Edel has performed as a recitalist throughout Europe and the United States, as well as in Korea, Russia and Israel. He has been a concerto soloist with the Chicago Symphony, the Grant Park Symphony and many other orchestras. Active in chamber music, Edel has given frequent concerts with members of the Chicago Symphony and the New York Philharmonic.

The Enso Quartet, formed at Yale University in 1999, is currently the resident quartet at Northern Illinois University. The quartet has been invited to take part in the 25th International Academy of String Quartets with the Alban Berg Quartet in Aldeburgh, England and has a concerto appearance planned for 2002 with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra

"Tuesdays at One" is a wide-ranging concert series featuring visiting professional artists. The concerts last 50 minutes. They are free and open to the public.
