UIC SYMPOSIUM DEVELOPS WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP Influential women leaders from all walks of life will meet Nov. 1 at the University of Illiniois at Chicago for a symposium titled "Keeping You One Step Ahead." The event, co-sponsored by UIC, will look at many important issues that affect women's lives. "The title of this year's conference is very relevant," said Rebecca Gordon, director of the UIC Office of Women's Affairs and project coordinator. "Keeping up with rapidly changing technology, accelerated work schedules, and juggling the pressures of family life and personal time are a reality for many of today's women. Women who come to this conference will have an opportunity to meet and network with other professionals who face similar challenges." Gordon said she hopes symposium attendees will leave the conference with new information and ideas and a renewed sense of purpose. The UIC Women's Leadership Symposium was founded to make leadership development more accessible to women and to address the unique issues faced by minority women. "Keeping You One Step Ahead" will be held in the Illinois Room of the UIC Chicago Circle Center, 750 S. Halsted St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The symposium is open to faculty, staff, students and the public. Advanced is registration required. Conference cost is $30; $15 for full-time students. Visit the event Web site or call (312) 413-1025 for registration information and a complete listing of symposium events. - UIC - |
